Town Hall Meeting

On April 6th, a referendum for the new Community STEM Center will appear on the election ballot. To ensure that we provide accurate and transparent information to our community, we are hosting a town hall meeting on Monday, March 22nd at 6pm. Board of Education Approves District Reopening Plan

Board of Education approved the District’s Reopening Plan on Wednesday, March 10, 2021. However, we will not reopen on March 15th as originally stated, but we are anticipating a March 22nd reopening date pending some logistical details.

District Spelling Bee

Wonder what the “BUZZ” is all about? The students in Elementary School District 159 have been preparing for their first ever, virtual spelling bee!

Remote Learning Update

During the regular Board of Education meeting held on Wednesday, January 13, 2021, the Board did not vote to approve the Hybrid Learning Model recommendations. Therefore, we will continue with Remote Learning until further notice.

5 Essentials Survey

The 5Essentials Survey identifies five indicators that lead to improved outcomes for all students, including improved attendance and larger test score gains.

The five indicators that positively affect school success are:

Effective Leaders
Collaborative Teachers
Involved Families
Supportive Environments
Ambitious Instruction
Research derived from the Five Essentials for School Success has proven that schools strong on at least three of the 5Essentials are 10 times more likely to improve student outcomes

Remote Learning Update - Oct. 15th

In view of the fact that the COVID-19 positivity and transmission rates are increasing within our communities, our District is taking a measured and cautious approach toward a return to in-person learning. At our Board of Education meeting on October 14, 2020, it was recommended that we remain in Remote Learning until January 2021. Click on link for more....
